London Dynamo

We are London Dynamo, a road cycling club with around 550 members drawn principally from South West London.

We offer opportunities to ride and race with other similarly enthusiastic road cyclists. We run a very active online members forum, host five weekly rides, organise and participate in races, sportives and time trials, and gather socially on an informal or organised basis.
We insist that members are serious about road cycling and can ride a road bike proficiently. We host MONTHLY newcomers rides on the first Saturday of the month in Richmond Park (twice a month in the summer). These introductory rides help prospective members understand our ethos, what we offer, and what we require of our members.

Adult Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18.

Junior membership is via our dedicated Youth and Juniors section, for young riders aged 8-18. Details here

Youth and Juniors run regular coached sessions on open and closed roads across three training hub locations; Richmond Park, Kingston and Kempton delivered by L2 and L3 British Cycling qualified coaches. We run regular friendly Go Ride competitive fun events. Contact us at to find out more.

Our organised adult rides are in Richmond Park, and also out to Chertsey, Windsor, the Surrey Hills, and beyond. We split our groups informally according to ability. We race at purpose-built circuits (the closest being at Hillingdon). We also race on the road, and at time trials under British Cycling jurisdiction.

Our organised rides are for our adult members only with the exception of our newcomers ride which is the first Saturday in the month in Richmond Park. Please email us for more information on this ride and for information about our youth and juniors section for those under the age of 18.

Saturday - Richmond Park 8.00am at Pen Pond Car Park (9am in winter) for 4 laps (28 miles) in groups of 8

Sundays - Hampton Court Station 9am for various rides to Windsor and Surrey Hills in groups according to ability (50-70 miles)

Wednesdays - Richmond Park 7pm at Richmond Gate. 4 Laps of the park in the summer (28 miles), or Chertsey 28 mile loop at other times

Tuesday and Thursdays - Hampton Court Dish Cafe. 9.30am for ride to Windsor (50 miles)

Membership is £70 in the first year, £60 thereafter. £25 for juniors and students. Members do not need to book to participate in club rides, simply come on a newcomers ride and then join up. Some social activities require confirmation and payment (where applicable) in advance.
Access to, and participation on, our forum is for members only, as is access to our club kit. Joining details on the public website.

Become a cycling instructor

If you love cycling, you might consider becoming a cycling instructor. Whether you would like to make it a full-time job or you just want to pass on some skills at your local school or youth club, undertaking the National Standard Instructor training is the first step.

Kingston is the only London borough recognised as an instructor training organisation (ITO). Since 2007, we have trained more than 300 instructors for local authorities and independent providers.

You can read more about our training here, and learn more about being a Bikeability Instructor here

Get involved?

Cycling is a fantastic way to exercise, travel, and enjoy the great outdoors. Wind in the hair (under your helmet of course), sunglasses on, and a picnic in your bag. However, not everyone sees it this way.

Therefore, CycleKingston is appealing to you to share the good, the bad (and the ugly?!) We want to hear your cycling experiences, news and showcase success stories along the way too.

If you have material you think we should feature on the website, drop us an email on with the information and some images and we'll do our best to feature them.
