VC Colets

WHO:
VC Colets is the cycling club of Colets Health & Fitness, located in Thames Ditton.  We are a small but well organised and enthusiastic club with a lot to offer our members. We benefit from a very active female contingent.

WHAT:
We offer, in addition to our weekly club ride and monthly club night, an annual club weekend away and participation in a couple of sportives each year as a club.
During the year there are social events you can participate in, as well as three ‘Brunch rides’ from autumn through to spring. We also run the occasional ‘tech session’.
VC Colets is fortunate in having access to Colets own private café and bar. The former is the meeting place for both pre & post ride coffee and the latter is the venue for our monthly club night & other social events.
Another benefit is ample free car parking, which is ideal for anyone living in central London who wants to access the Surrey Hills on a Sunday morning with a cycling club.  You can ‘park and ride’ without adding a heap of urban miles to your weekly ride.

RESTRICTIONS:
Membership is open to anyone aged 18 or above.

WHEN:
Our weekly Club Rides are every Sunday morning.
Our monthly Club Night is the 2nd Wednesday of each calendar month.

WHERE:
Meet at 08:30 for our pre-ride coffee in the Colets Health & Fitness cafe for our weekly club ride.  (NB. from December - February inc. we meet at 09:00 for a 09:30 start)  We always aim to be back for around 12:00 - 12:30.
Meet in the Colets bar from about 7:45pm onwards for our monthly Club Night.

HOW MUCH:
Membership of VC Colets is FREE to anyone who is a member of Colets Health & Fitness.
If you are not a member of Colets Health & Fitness then you can still join VC Colets for FREE by joining Colets Health & Fitness as a social member (currently £30 per year).
Membership of British Cycling, though not compulsory, is encouraged.

Become a cycling instructor

If you love cycling, you might consider becoming a cycling instructor. Whether you would like to make it a full-time job or you just want to pass on some skills at your local school or youth club, undertaking the National Standard Instructor training is the first step.

Kingston is the only London borough recognised as an instructor training organisation (ITO). Since 2007, we have trained more than 300 instructors for local authorities and independent providers.

You can read more about our training here, and learn more about being a Bikeability Instructor here

Get involved?

Cycling is a fantastic way to exercise, travel, and enjoy the great outdoors. Wind in the hair (under your helmet of course), sunglasses on, and a picnic in your bag. However, not everyone sees it this way.

Therefore, CycleKingston is appealing to you to share the good, the bad (and the ugly?!) We want to hear your cycling experiences, news and showcase success stories along the way too.

If you have material you think we should feature on the website, drop us an email on info@cyclekingston.net with the information and some images and we'll do our best to feature them.
