FREE Summer Holiday Cycle Training For Children!!

The Council’s Cycle Training Team will be running free summer holiday cycle training following courses throughout the summer break, with venues in Chessington, Kingston, New Malden and Surbiton.

Bikeability Level 1&2 Courses are for any Year 5 pupils (and above) who may have missed courses at their school during term time or have achieved Level 1 and would like to progress to Level 2. Dates, venues, details and Booking Forms can all be found here, or you can request a copy from

Bikeability Advanced Level 2 /Level 3, one-to-one sessions are for Year 6 pupils (and above) who are confident cyclists who have already achieved Level 2. Just book online here or request a copy from

Become a cycling instructor

If you love cycling, you might consider becoming a cycling instructor. Whether you would like to make it a full-time job or you just want to pass on some skills at your local school or youth club, undertaking the National Standard Instructor training is the first step.

Kingston is the only London borough recognised as an instructor training organisation (ITO). Since 2007, we have trained more than 300 instructors for local authorities and independent providers.

Get involved?

Cycling is a fantastic way to exercise, travel, and enjoy the great outdoors. Wind in the hair (under your helmet of course), sunglasses on, and a picnic in your bag. However, not everyone sees it this way.
